Sara is Co-Director of the Creative Economy Unit at Cardiff University. Her role is to provide leadership and strategic direction to research, engagement and innovation initiatives for Media Cymru, Clwstwr and Creative Cardiff. Sara’s focus includes governance, management, ideation, innovation spaces, partnerships and international collaborations. Working with a wide variety of stakeholders including academic, industry and government partners, Sara is keen to find ways for them to coalesce to better support and understand the creative economy. She is passionate about championing and developing creative talent and ideas and brokering partnerships that enable individuals and organisations to realise their full creative and commercial potential. Sara has held a wide variety of posts from producer to project manager for organisations such as the Southbank Centre, the Wales Millennium Centre and the Sydney Olympic Games 2000. She is currently a member of the National Trust Wales Advisory Board. Sara was awarded an OBE for services to the creative economy in the 2021 New Year Honours list.
